I recently went to Crocker Park and made the fatal mistake of going into Anthropologie. It is my dream store, and sadly, the only thing I can afford from there is a mug. The good news is, as I looked through the décor section, ooh-ing and aw-ing over every item, I realized something: It would be easy to make look-alikes! I saw really cool wall letters that were painted with a bunch of different prints and design and each letter was $50. If you know anything about me, you know I would never drop $50 on a letter to hang in my room.
So, that inspired me to make my own multi-print wall letter. All of the crafts I do are really simple and customizable, and this one is no exception. My roommate and I had a lot of fun decorating letters!
What you need:
There aren’t any specific steps you have to do to make this craft; you can decorate your letter however you want! Just cut and glue scrapbook paper, fabric, etc. to your letter. I used a mix of different printed scrapbook paper and different printed fabric to make a multi-print collage. First, I covered the whole letter in one design of scrapbook paper. Then, I layered the other paper, fabric, and embellishments, to be sure all of the wood is covered. I like the mix of texture of fabric and paper, and I picked a mix of modern and vintage prints. I added flowers and buttons in some places to finish off my collage! I really like how it turned out. Dare I say I actually like them better than the letters from Anthropologie? Plus, it only cost about $15 to make!
This is the perfect craft to have a craft night with friends! What will you put on your letter?blog comments powered by Disqus
