The Burr is Kent State's independent general interest magazine. That means it's run by students for students. The magazine has a long history at KSU, starting as the Chestnut Burr yearbook in 1914 after the many chestnut trees that lined the campus. In 1986 the Chestnut Burr took a new approach and became The Burr magazine. It transformed and thrived as media changed from generation to generation, but one thing has remained consistent: the goal to maintain content that intrigues the entire student body at Kent State University. The print edition is published at the end of each semester. Stories range from long to short, serious to funny. The weekly updated CyBurr is for those looking for something entertaining to read, something new to learn or something provoking to see.
